My mom and sister have been working to lose weight over the past 6 months or so, mostly through Weight Watchers, and I'm so proud of them both! My mom has lost almost 55 pounds, and my sister just over 30. One of the ways they're worked to do this, in addition to counting points, is by walking more. My mom in particular has been going on walks about 4 times a week, aiming for at least 2 miles each time, and she's hoping to hit 3 very soon. So, when we arrived last week I eagerly joined her, as I knew this would be just the push I needed to get back into exercising more. I'd been doing really well with going to yoga/barre strength classes, but that's slacked off a bit lately. So, I started walking last week with her (and even went without her when she had to work) - so far I'm on 7 days straight of at least 2 miles every day, and plan to keep that going!
The first morning we went was July 4; I walked with my mom and aunt Linda. I took my new Canon powershot with me, as we were planning to walk by the water, and I thought I'd see some nice scenery...I was right!
A wood cut-out mermaid that was attached to a private dock extending out into the bay.
Don't you just want to sit there all day?!
This was taken from a small beach we found on the Bay; we ended up coming back to this beach multiple times later in the week to allow the kids to play. I will share those photos soon!
On the way back, we stopped at a pier that extends out into the water, and when I turned to the south we saw these clouds bearing down on us. Yes, I converted to black and white, but I did not enhance the darkness! About 5 minutes after we left, we felt a few drizzles, and then the skies opened and we got soaked. It honestly felt pretty good, as we were pretty sweaty at that point!
