Cinderella

For the release of Disney's live action version of Cinderella, the local Alamo Drafthouse had a Princess Event. For only slightly more expensive than just a regular movie ticket, we were able to attend the event. They had hair stations (which of course had way too long of a line for Natalie to actually get her hair done), photos with Cinderella, crown-making stations, wands for the girls...it was done quite well!

Once we got into the theater, there was Cinderella, ready for the girls to take their photo with her

Oh, and me too! They encouraged everyone to dress up, and how often do I really get to wear my Anna costume? I do like to dress up :)
Natalie and I sat down to take this selfie. Because I was dressed as Anna, there was a little girl (maybe 2 or 3) who asked to take her photo with me! Too cute.

Beth and Jason had met us there, bringing Ellie with them to enjoy the princess event too. Here are Natalie and Ellie making a princess crown craft.
Just before the movie started, Natalie's friend Sara arrived (with her mom). Natalie and Sara were very excited  to see Cinderella together!

Before the movie started, they invited some girls down to the front to receive special prizes. Natalie was actually one of the girls picked! More than were chosen came down to the front (I don't think they really understood, and sadly their parents didn't explain it to them); I was happy that Natalie was chosen so I didn't fall in that category!

They gave away tshirts, posters, and Natalie received a special give away: a watch! It's very pretty. Here we are after the movie in front of the poster; she's holding the blue watch box.
Definitely a fun event! Alamo Drafthouse does awesome things like this all the time; it's definitely become our new go-to theater!

A quick update

Hi all. Sorry that it's been a week since I posted; I didn't realize that had happened! I was out of town over the weekend for my friend Beth's bridal shower in Williamsburg, Va. It was only my second time spending a night away from Natalie, but spending the time with my girlfriends helped to keep my mind off of missing her! The girls had a great time - the shower was lovely, and then we saw the movie Ghost Town that night. It was quite amusing! Breakfast the next morning at a cute little pancake house, and then headed back to Leesburg.

Evan had a good weekend too! Our friend Chris stayed with him, while his wife Renee went to the shower with me. 3 other guy friends came over too, and they had fun guy-time while the ladies were away...although it's a bit different with Natalie there! Evan said Natalie was great all weekend, which made me really happy.

It's been a busy work week, which is why I haven't written. We're all doing great, just busy. Natalie is starting to get better at walking & eating:
1) she walked a couple of steps while holding onto and pushing her toy car
2) she "cruised" from one end of the couch to the other, holding onto it while walking a couple of steps
3) she ate some small chunks of chicken with dinner the other night, and really enjoyed it! I was told at daycare today she had a couple small pieces of bagel and some banana bread, so eating solids is coming along very well!

I will have lots to talk about from over the weekend, as we have lots of family visiting for my birthday. I promise to do a full post with pics & videos then!

Happy Thanksgiving!

So, because my due date is only about 10 days away, I wasn't allowed to travel anywhere for Thanksgiving, which meant not getting to see family unfortunately. But, Evan and I did the best that we could to still celebrate, and I think we had a pretty decent holiday. We went to go see Enchanted, the new Disney movie making fun of other animated Disney movies. It was quite cute, and definitely a good one for the holidays. We then went to a great restaurant that opened not that long ago in Lansdowne Town Center called The Dock at Lansdowne. Excellent food, and a really well-priced Thanksgiving dinner, but without any cooking or clean up! Below is a picture of us dressed up for dinner at the restaurant.

No baby news yet, but we still have plenty of days to go. I'll keep everyone posted!
